PORTWELL ANNOUNCES POWERFUL 19” SYSTEM TARGETING VIDEO WALL APPLICATIONS

High performance PICMG 1.3 SBC paired with backplane with powerful PCIe-bridge helps to drive up to 10 Matrox graphics cards

Nieuw Vennep, The Netherlands – August 20, 2019 -- Portwell, (https://www.portwell.eu) a world-leading technology innovator in the Industrial PC (IPC) and embedded computing markets, empowering the Internet of Things (IoT) with intelligent gateways and edge devices, announces its high performance 19” System RS4U-MTRX-1101. The RS4U-MTRX-1101 is based on a specially designed 19” Rack - cooled by three fans. The PICMG 1.3 backplane and a full-size single-board-computer (SBC) provide the computing power and huge extension options, with up to 10 slots PCIe x16. In order to meet highest performance and reliability demand, the system is equipped with a redundant 950Watt power supply, allowing 24/7 operation.

Built with application-centric design, the RS4U-MTRX-1101 is pre-configured for being populated with Matrox graphics cards from the MPX and IPX series. The high-performance PCI Express switch on the backplane, collaborating with the ROBO-8113VG2AR SBC., enable the RS4U-MTRX-1101 to provide full PCIe x16 to all ten extension slots.

ROBO-8113VG2AR

The ROBO-8113VG2AR family of PICMG 1.3 SBCs offers a choice of the latest 7th and 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i7, i5 and i3 processors or the Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1200 v5 family. The Intel® Xeon® processors include Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology to deliver improved performance and processing efficiency. The ROBO-8113 supports Intel® C236 and Q170 chipsets to provide up to 32GB DDR4 system memory with ECC or non-ECC option.

With huge Video Wall installations - up to 40 displays in mind - the RS4U-MTRX-1101 was designed for high computing performance with huge data throughput and combined high-reliability. Pre-installed with Windows 10 or Windows 7 (if Matrox IPX need to be supported) the RS4U-MTRX-1101 just needs to be populated with the required combination of Matrox MPX or IPX cards to make it the perfect fit for the customers video wall installation - allowing the system integrator to focus on the application itself and the content to be streamed by the system. It helps minimize development effort and time spent on initial designs, including validation & verification.
