Standardization Group for Embedded Technologies e.V.
SGeT e.V. is a registered association for the development and dissemination of open specifications, which are provided as a team performance in the standardization development teams (SDT).
More than 40 companies from the embedded environment have joined SGeT from the outset and want to quickly and unbureaucratically pack new technologies and market requirements into open specifications, which are used by the members. SGeT is a non-profit organization and amounts can only be used in accordance with the Articles of Incorporation.
Every company in the embedded computing industry is invited to join the association and contribute its ideas. In addition to the board manufacturers as initiators, system manufacturers or component suppliers, research and teaching, embedded system integrators or industrial users are welcome as well.

PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturing Group
With more than 250 members, the PICMG is a leading organization for the development of standards in the industry. From it emerged standards such as CompactPCI, ATCA or COM Express.
Portwell is an Executive member of PICMG and is actively involved in new PICMG specifications.
Developers or providers of PICMG compliant products can be large companies with a broad technical skills or small organizations that are experts in only a few areas. Any supplier, large or small, can participate in the global ecosystem for these products and benefit from it.
Users benefit from the large number of providers of open standards as no proprietary technologies are used in the PICMG. Users of open standards have the choice between several suppliers who are continuously competing for the best price / performance ratio. With the use of open PICMG standards, the user can avoid the fact that everything has to be redesigned from scratch at the time of a supplier or technology change. Backward compatibility helps to focus only on changing certain parts of the product.
Technical subcommittees, under the direction of the Technical Officer, are responsible for the development of the PICMG specifications. PICMG has committed itself to open specifications which are open to all (for a fee) and are developed by the member companies with a broad market know-how.
Founded in 1994, the original task was to expand the PCI Standard of the PCI Special Interest Group into the markets of Industrial Automation, Medical, Military and Telecom. A number of open specifications have been developed like PICMG, e.g. CompactPCI®, AdvancedTCA®, AdvancedMC ™, CompactPCI® Express, COM Express® and SHB Express®.
